Peter Max and the Peace Plane

Swami Vishnudevananda was well known for flying a psychedelic Cessna into war-torn and disputed border territories in an effort to unite people and demonstrate the absurdity of violence in the name of man-made borders.

That beautiful plane, now housed at the Sivananda Ashram in Val Morin was painted by Peter Max.

In the Name of Peace highlights Swami Vishnu-devananda's mission as a yogi and peace activist.

Swami Vishnu's unconventional methods included flying a "Peace Plane" painted by Peter Max into disuputed border areas, earning him the title "The Flying Yogi".

He established the Sivananda Yoga Teachers' Training Course encouraging others to become "Peace Ambassadors" in the world using yoga to cultivate inner peace.
