Gordon Ramsay Goes to an Ashram

Paper Dosa, Savoy South Indian Kitchen, Edmonton
Have you seen this?

It's from 2013 but I only encountered it a short while ago.

If you can tune out the swearing it's hilarious and educational, and refreshing to see Gordon Ramsay a tiny bit calmer and perhaps even slightly humbled...

Gordon's Great Escape India - Part 1

Gordon Ramsay's Great Escape India - Part 2

Gordon Ramsay's Great Escape India - Part 3

The "Proper Guru" Gordon meets in Part Three is Sadhguru, founder of Isha whom I featured in the previous post.

If you don't have time for the whole series, here are some choice highlights:

Highlights: Gordon Ramsay Meets Sadhguru

Anybody feel like going for dosas?

April 22, 2015 is Earth Day!

Saleem communing with Mother Earth
I'm excited to spend Earth Day outside and so is Saleem!

There are also plenty of local events to participate in:

Strathcona County is hosting a free screening of the movie "Just Eat It" and an information session about how organic waste is handled in the county on April 22nd.

The City of Edmonton, and Earth's General Store are hosting all kinds of events on the weekend, April 26 and 27th.  I hear my favorite vegan food truck Sailin' On is going to be there!

Online, you can visit the David Suzuki Foundation and enter contests to win prizes from the Queen of Green and IKEA Canada.

Even Value Village is getting on board, offering double stamps for discounts in-store when you donate your pre-loved goods on Wednesday, April 22nd.

How will you be spending Earth Day?

Om Shri Dhanvantre Namaha: Mantra for Healing

Click here to listen to this mantra by Deva Premal on YouTube.

"Salutations to Dhanvantari, the embodiment and power of healing!"

Dhanvantari is the 17th avatar of Vishnu, physician of the gods, and the father of Ayurveda

This mantra can help us find the path to healing and direct us to the best health practitioners for our situation.  It may be chanted during cooking to charge the food with healing vibrations, to prevent disease and benefit those who are ill.  In addition to physical dis-ease, this mantra can be chanted for any situation that needs to be healed.

Remember that the path of healing is not always what we expect!

Padmanadi Vegetarian Restaurant

Dessert/Drink Menu
Oooooh I just came back from dinner at the most wonderful place, Padmanadi Vegetarian Restaurant!

Family run and beautifully decorated, the food is a delicious mix of Thai, Indonesian and Indian cuisine.  Totally vegan and totally amazing!

We shared coconut rice and two dishes, Lemon "Ribs" and "Chicken" Curry followed by dessert and steamed soy milk chai... mmm... what a treat!

I hope you're having a great long weekend enjoying the beautiful summer weather and the fabulous lightning shows.  See you at yoga tomorrow!
